Guts’ Role as a Father Figure to Isidro and other Younger Characters

Hey there, fellow Berserk fans! Today, I want to chat about something that's been on my mind lately - how Guts, our badass protagonist, unexpectedly becomes a father figure to some of the younger characters in the series. It's pretty wild when you think about it, right?

So, we all know Guts as this unstoppable force of nature, always pushing forward with his massive sword and even bigger grudge. But have you noticed how he starts to soften up a bit when these kids enter the picture? It's like watching a grizzly bear trying to babysit - hilarious and heartwarming at the same time.

A fierce warrior prepares to strike with an enormous blood-stained sword, his back facing the viewer. His armor is marked with blood and battle scars, and a rope is wrapped around his arm. Dark, ominous clouds and demonic creatures in the background add to the intense and foreboding atmosphere."
Let's start with Isidro, that little firecracker of a thief. At first, Guts is like, "Ugh, why is this brat following me?" But before you know it, he's teaching the kid how to swing a sword and survive in their messed-up world. It's adorable how Isidro tries to act all tough, but you can tell he's soaking up every bit of wisdom Guts drops.

Then there's Schierke, the young witch who could probably turn you into a frog if you look at her funny. But with Guts? She's just a kid who needs protection. It's fascinating to see Guts, this guy who's been through hell and back, become a guardian to this magical powerhouse. Talk about an unlikely duo!

A fierce warrior from the anime Berserk stands with a massive bloodied sword over his shoulder, clad in battered and bloodied armor. The background is filled with burning buildings and dark, stormy skies, reflecting the chaos and intensity of the scene.
And let's not forget Farnese. Okay, she's not exactly a kid, but man, does she need some guidance. Remember when she was all about burning people at the stake? Yeah, not her finest moment. But under Guts' influence, she goes from "crazy noble lady" to "valued team member." It's like watching the world's most intense personal growth seminar.

What really gets me is how all of this changes Guts. He starts off as this lone wolf, all "I don't need nobody" vibes. But these relationships? They bring out a side of him we never knew existed. He's still a total badass, don't get me wrong, but now he's a badass with a heart of gold.

It's like Miura is telling us, "Hey, even in the darkest, most messed-up world imaginable, there's still room for love, mentorship, and family." And isn't that just beautiful?

So next time you're flipping through Berserk, keep an eye out for these moments. They're easy to miss with all the demon-slaying and world-ending threats, but trust me, they're there. And they add so much depth to Guts' character and the story as a whole.

What do you think? Have you noticed Guts' dad vibes in the series? Got any favorite moments?

Thank You.
